Paul ties peace directly to being one body, meaning peace isn't just a private feeling you bring into a room, it's something meant to govern how a group functions together. When tension rises in a meeting, this verse is a genuine instruction, not just a nice sentiment: let peace rule, on purpose, as a decision. The word rule is worth pausing on, it implies peace has to actively govern something that would otherwise drift toward anxiety or conflict on its own, it doesn't just happen by default in a room full of differing opinions.

If there's tension already in the room today, name it calmly before moving forward, rather than pretending it isn't there and letting it leak sideways into the rest of the discussion. Naming it out loud often diffuses far more than avoiding it ever does.
