A Short Devotion on Wisdom for Your Next Meeting

📖 James 1:5

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

💭 Reflection

Most meetings exist because a decision needs to be made, and most people walk into decisions assuming wisdom has to come from experience or expertise alone. James offers a different starting point: ask, and ask without fear of being told you should already know. God isn't stingy with wisdom, and He doesn't shame people for needing it. That last detail matters more than it seems, plenty of groups quietly punish uncertainty, which trains people to fake confidence instead of asking the honest question that would actually move things forward.

Instead of jumping straight to solutions today, spend two minutes naming what the group genuinely doesn't know about the situation yet. Admitting the gap out loud is often the fastest way to actually close it, and it gives quieter voices permission to say what they've been unsure about too.
