A Short Devotion on Faithfulness for Your Next Meeting

πŸ“– 1 Corinthians 4:2

β€œMoreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”

πŸ’ Reflection

Nobody in this room was asked to be brilliant, only faithful, to actually do with care and consistency what they were given to steward. That's a lower bar in one sense and a higher one in another, brilliance is occasional, faithfulness has to show up every day, especially the unremarkable ones. It's worth asking whether this group quietly rewards flashes of brilliance more than it notices steady, unremarkable faithfulness, because the second one is usually what actually carries a project across a long stretch of ordinary weeks.

βœ… In Practice

Pick one small, unglamorous task from this week and do it with the same care you'd give something everyone would notice. Faithfulness shows up there first, before it shows up anywhere bigger, and it's usually invisible until it's suddenly missing, which is exactly why it deserves real attention now, not later.

πŸ—£ Discuss

What's one responsibility here that just needs steady faithfulness, not a big breakthrough?

πŸ™ Pray

God, help us be faithful with what's been entrusted to us today, even the small, unglamorous parts of it. Let us find real satisfaction in quiet consistency, not just the moments when someone happens to be watching. Amen.
