πŸ“– Ecclesiastes 4:9

β€œTwo are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.”

πŸ’ Reflection

The writer of Ecclesiastes had watched enough of life to know that most things worth doing are heavier alone than they need to be. This isn't a statement about efficiency so much as about reward, shared labor produces shared benefit, not just divided work. What you're doing together today is worth more than the sum of what you'd each do apart. It's easy to default to working in silos when everyone's busy, but the passage suggests something is genuinely lost, not just slowed down, when people carry things alone that were meant to be carried together.

βœ… In Practice

Look at today's agenda and ask where one person is currently carrying something that two people could carry better. Offer to help before they have to ask, and be honest if you're the one who's been quietly carrying too much alone.

πŸ—£ Discuss

Where has working together this week produced something none of us could have done alone?

πŸ™ Pray

Father, thank You that we don't have to carry this work by ourselves. Help us actually lean on each other today instead of working in silos, and give us eyes to see where someone nearby needs a hand we haven't offered yet. Amen.
