A Short Devotion on Gratitude for Your Next Meeting

📖 1 Thessalonians 5:18

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

Notice the verse doesn't say give thanks for every thing, it says in every thing, even the hard or tedious circumstances a meeting might be addressing. That's a meaningful difference. Gratitude here isn't pretending problems aren't problems, it's staying anchored to thankfulness even while working through them. A group that only expresses thanks when things go well quietly teaches itself that gratitude is conditional, while a group that practices it in the middle of a hard project builds something sturdier, thankfulness that doesn't depend on circumstances cooperating first.

Go around the room and have each person name one specific, non-generic thing they're grateful for about this project or team right now. Specific beats generic every time, and don't skip this step just because the season feels difficult, that's often when it matters most.
