A Short Devotion on Kindness for Your Next Meeting
π Ephesians 4:32
βAnd be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.β
π Reflection
Kindness in a working relationship can start to feel optional once deadlines and disagreements pile up. Paul places it right next to forgiveness, and roots both in how God has already treated us, meaning kindness here isn't a personality trait some people have and others don't, it's a response to grace already received. Pressure tends to strip kindness away first, since it feels like a luxury when there's real urgency, but that's often exactly when a room needs it most, not least.
β In Practice
Notice who in the room seems most tired or stretched thin today, and make sure they're treated gently, not just efficiently, for the rest of this meeting. A tired person handled kindly recovers faster than one just pushed through, and it costs the room very little to offer.
π£ Discuss
Who in this group might need a little more tenderheartedness from us this week?
π Pray
God, help us be kind to each other today, especially when we're tired or under pressure. Let us treat each other the way You've treated us, generously, without keeping score of who deserves it more. Amen.
