A Short Devotion on Courage for Your Next Meeting

πŸ“– Joshua 1:9

β€œHave not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”

πŸ’ Reflection

Joshua was about to lead people into genuinely uncertain territory, and God's instruction wasn't a strategy, it was courage, grounded specifically in His presence rather than in Joshua's own confidence. Whatever hard conversation, decision, or risk is in front of this group today, the same ground holds. Notice the command is repeated, be strong and of good courage, then again not afraid, neither dismayed, as if God knew Joshua would need to hear it more than once before it actually settled into him.

βœ… In Practice

Identify the one thing on today's agenda everyone's been avoiding saying plainly. Be the person who says it first, kindly but clearly, rather than waiting for someone else to, and notice how often the room was actually ready to hear it.

πŸ—£ Discuss

What's one thing on today's agenda that's going to take real courage to say or decide?

πŸ™ Pray

Lord, give us courage for what's ahead of us today. Remind us You're with us in it, so we don't have to face it dismayed, and let that presence be enough even when the outcome is still uncertain. Amen.
