A Short Devotion on Endurance for Your Next Meeting

πŸ“– James 1:12

β€œBlessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.”

πŸ’ Reflection

Endurance here isn't passive waiting, it's active faithfulness under real pressure, the kind that would be reasonable to walk away from. Whatever trial this group or project is currently under, the promise attached to enduring it isn't relief from difficulty, it's something better on the other side. The word blessed at the start is notable, it's not applied after the trial ends, it's applied to the one still enduring it, meaning the value of endurance isn't only in the outcome, it's already present in the enduring itself.

βœ… In Practice

If part of this project has started to feel like something to escape rather than finish, name that honestly today, and decide together whether it needs endurance or a real change of direction. Not every hard thing deserves to be endured, some deserve to be changed.

πŸ—£ Discuss

What are we being tempted to walk away from right now that actually needs endurance instead?

πŸ™ Pray

Father, give us endurance for what we're facing today. Help us not give up on something You're still working through, and give us wisdom to tell the difference between endurance and stubbornness. Amen.
