📖 Proverbs 13:4

“The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.”

💭 Reflection

Everyone in this room wants the same good outcomes, that part isn't the differentiator. The proverb draws the line somewhere else, between wanting and doing, between desire and diligence. Wishing for a good result and working diligently toward it are two entirely different postures. It's worth noticing how easy it is to mistake genuine desire for actual progress, wanting something badly enough can feel like movement toward it, even when no concrete step has actually been taken yet.

Pick the one item on today's list that's easiest to keep postponing, and do the next concrete step on it before the meeting ends, not just plan to do it later. A single small step today beats another well-intentioned plan that never quite gets around to actually starting.
