A Short Devotion on Trust for Your Next Meeting

📖 Proverbs 3:5

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

💭 Reflection

Meetings often exist because people are trying to figure something out together, next steps, a hard decision, an unclear future. This verse doesn't say don't think, it says don't lean your whole weight on your own understanding alone. There's a difference between using good judgment and treating your judgment as the final word. Groups that quietly operate as though one person's certainty is sufficient tend to miss what other perspectives in the room could have caught, humility about your own understanding isn't weakness, it's an invitation for better collective judgment.

Name one decision on today's agenda where the group is tempted to control every variable. Practice trusting God, and each other, with the parts nobody can fully manage, and resist the urge to force certainty where honest uncertainty still exists.

Father, we don't have all the answers we wish we had today. Help us trust You with what we can't see clearly yet, and keep us from the false comfort of pretending certainty we don't actually have. Amen.
