A Short Devotion on Love for Your Next Meeting

πŸ“– 1 Corinthians 13:4

β€œCharity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up.”

πŸ’ Reflection

This verse is read at more weddings than meetings, but Paul wrote it to a church dealing with conflict and competition, not a couple in love. Applied to a team, it's almost a checklist, patient, kind, not envious, not boastful. Worth quietly running your own participation in this group through those words. It's a strikingly practical list once you take the romance out of it, patience under deadline pressure, kindness under disagreement, and a genuine lack of envy when someone else gets the credit.

βœ… In Practice

Run today's biggest disagreement through this verse before you have it: is what we're about to say patient and kind, or just technically correct? Being right and being loving aren't automatically the same thing, and this verse assumes both matter, not one at the expense of the other.

πŸ—£ Discuss

Which of these, patience, kindness, freedom from envy, comes hardest for you in this group?

πŸ™ Pray

God, let love actually shape how we treat each other today, patient, kind, without envy or pride. Search us for whichever of these comes hardest, and help us grow there specifically, not just in general. Amen.
