A Short Devotion on Integrity for Your Next Meeting

πŸ“– Proverbs 10:9

β€œHe that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.”

πŸ’ Reflection

Integrity has a quiet promise attached to it in this verse, security. Walking uprightly means you don't have to manage a story or remember what you told whom, the straightforward path is also the stable one. That matters in any group where trust is the thing that makes cooperation possible at all. The second half of the verse is worth sitting with too, crooked ways eventually get known, not because someone always gets caught, but because inconsistency is exhausting to maintain and tends to surface on its own over time.

βœ… In Practice

If there's a number, a status update, or a promise on today's agenda that's been quietly softened, say the accurate version out loud, even if it's less comfortable than the polished one. Short-term discomfort here is almost always cheaper than the cost of it unraveling later.

πŸ—£ Discuss

Is there anywhere in our current work where the easy path and the honest path have started to diverge?

πŸ™ Pray

Lord, keep us honest today, in the small things as much as the big ones. Let our word be something people here can build on, and give us the courage to choose the surer, straighter path even when the crooked one feels easier in the moment. Amen.
