A Short Devotion on Forgiveness for Your Next Meeting
π Colossians 3:13
βForbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.β
π Reflection
Any group that works together long enough accumulates small offenses, a sharp email, a missed deadline, a comment taken the wrong way. Left unaddressed, these things quietly poison collaboration. Paul's instruction assumes there will be a quarrel to forgive, this isn't a hypothetical, it's a normal part of working alongside other people. The measure given, even as Christ forgave you, is a genuinely high bar, it rules out keeping score or waiting for the other person to earn forgiveness first.
β In Practice
If there's a small unresolved offense sitting under the surface of this group, address it directly and briefly today rather than letting it keep quietly accumulating. Unaddressed small offenses rarely stay small, they tend to compound until they surface somewhere much less convenient.
π£ Discuss
Is there a small offense between any of us that needs to be let go before it grows?
π Pray
Father, help us forgive quickly today, the way You've forgiven us. Don't let small offenses sit and grow into something bigger, and give us the grace to release what we've been quietly holding onto. Amen.
