A Short Devotion on Communication for Your Next Meeting

📖 Ephesians 4:29

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”

This is a high bar for a meeting: every word measured not just by whether it's true, but by whether it builds up and ministers grace to whoever hears it. It doesn't mean avoiding hard truths, it means choosing how those truths get said, with the hearer's benefit genuinely in mind. The phrase minister grace is worth pausing on, it suggests communication can actively give something to the listener, not just transmit information, which changes how worth-considering the delivery really is, not just the content.

Before you say something difficult today, ask yourself whether it's true and whether it's said in a way that actually helps the person hear it, not just gets it off your chest. Delivery matters as much as content here.
