A Short Devotion on Beginning Well for Your Next Meeting
π Proverbs 3:6
βIn all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.β
π Reflection
This verse is a fitting place to end where we started, in all thy ways, meaning not just the big decisions but the ordinary beginning of an ordinary meeting like this one. Acknowledging God at the start of something as small as a meeting is practice for acknowledging Him in everything else too. The promise attached, He shall direct thy paths, isn't limited to major life decisions, it applies just as genuinely to the small, repeated choice to begin each ordinary gathering by acknowledging Him first.
β In Practice
Before diving into today's business, take thirty seconds of real quiet to acknowledge God at the start of it, not as a formality, but as the actual first step. Make this a habit for every meeting, not just the ones that feel important, since the ordinary ones add up to most of the year.
π£ Discuss
What would it look like to genuinely acknowledge God at the start of everything we do this week, not just today?
π Pray
Lord, we acknowledge You at the start of this. Direct our paths through today's work, and through everything that follows it, in the small ordinary moments as much as the significant ones. Amen.
