A Short Devotion on Wholeheartedness for Your Next Meeting

πŸ“– Deuteronomy 6:5

β€œAnd thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”

πŸ’ Reflection

It's easy to bring a fraction of yourself into routine work, half attention, reserved effort, a guarded heart. This command isn't about work directly, but it shapes how a person shows up everywhere, all of the heart, not a managed portion of it. What would today look like with all of you actually present in it? Notice the triple emphasis, heart, soul, and might, as if a partial offering, however common it feels in ordinary daily life, was never really the goal.

βœ… In Practice

Notice where you've been showing up to this work only partially present lately, and choose one specific way to bring your full attention back to it starting today. Partial presence is often a habit rather than a decision, and habits can be changed with the same small consistency that formed them.

πŸ—£ Discuss

Where have we been holding back a portion of ourselves instead of showing up wholeheartedly?

πŸ™ Pray

Father, help us bring all of ourselves to today, not a guarded, partial version. Let our love for You shape how fully we show up here, in this ordinary meeting as much as anywhere else. Amen.
