A Short Devotion on Stewardship for Your Next Meeting

πŸ“– Luke 16:10

β€œHe that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.”

πŸ’ Reflection

It's tempting to treat small responsibilities as beneath real effort, saving your best work for when something bigger comes along. Jesus draws a direct line between the two, faithfulness in small things isn't separate from faithfulness in big things, it's the training ground and the proof of it. How a person treats a minor deadline or a small budget line is usually a fairly reliable preview of how they'll treat a much larger one, the scale changes but the underlying character usually doesn't.

βœ… In Practice

Look at the smallest resource this group manages, time, a budget line, a tool, and ask honestly whether it's being cared for as carefully as the big ones. Small carelessness compounds quietly over time, until it eventually shows up somewhere much more visible and harder to fix.

πŸ—£ Discuss

What's a small responsibility here that deserves more care than we've been giving it?

πŸ™ Pray

Father, help us be faithful in the small things today, trusting You with the bigger things that might come from it. Don't let us despise small responsibilities while waiting for bigger, more impressive ones to arrive. Amen.
