💭 What This Means
Today we continue to learn about the intricate details of the Lord's instructions for worship and offerings. Chapter seven gives us more specific rules for the trespass offering and the peace offering, including how much of it the priests received and how long it could be eaten. We also hear again the clear command not to eat any fat or blood. Then, in chapter eight, we witness a profound moment: the consecration of Aaron and his sons as priests. Moses washes them, dresses them in their holy garments, and anoints them with oil, setting them apart for sacred service. He performs a sin offering, a burnt offering, and a special ram of consecration, placing its blood on Aaron and his sons' right ear, thumb, and great toe. This entire seven-day process establishes them as mediators between God and His people, a holy calling to serve in His presence.
