💭 What This Means
Today's reading in Hebrews really brings home the incredible difference Jesus makes for us. We learn that Jesus isn't just a priest; He's our great High Priest, serving in the true, heavenly tabernacle, not one made by human hands. He's the mediator of a new and better covenant, one God promised through Jeremiah, where His laws are written on our hearts, and our sins are remembered no more. The old covenant, with its earthly tabernacle and repeated animal sacrifices, was a shadow, a temporary picture that could never truly perfect anyone. But Christ came, and with His own blood, He entered the heavenly sanctuary once for all. His single, perfect sacrifice has forever perfected those who are sanctified. Because of this completed work, we now have incredible boldness to enter God's presence, not through rituals or animal blood, but through the living way He opened. This means we can draw near with confidence, hold fast to our faith, and encourage each other, knowing we have a better, enduring substance.
🙏 Let's Pray
Lord, thank You for Jesus, our great High Priest, and for establishing a new and better covenant. We praise You that His once-for-all sacrifice has opened the way for us to draw near to You with confidence. Help us to hold fast to our faith without wavering, and to live by faith, not shrinking back from Your calling. In Jesus' name, Amen.
