💭 What This Means
Today's reading gives us rich wisdom for living a life pleasing to God. Ephesians urges us to walk circumspectly, making the most of every opportunity, and to be filled with the Spirit, giving thanks always. It then provides practical guidance for our homes, instructing wives to submit to their husbands as to the Lord, and husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church, even giving Himself up for her. Children are told to obey and honor parents, and fathers are to raise their children in the Lord. Paul then shifts to spiritual warfare, calling us to put on the full armor of God: truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, all empowered by prayer. He reminds us our battle is not against flesh and blood. Then in Colossians, Paul highlights the incredible supremacy of Jesus Christ. He is the image of the invisible God, the creator of all things, visible and invisible. All things were created by Him and for Him, and in Him all things hold together. Through His blood, He reconciled us to Himself, presenting us holy and blameless. This truth grounds our walk and empowers our stand.

Lord, thank You for these powerful words of wisdom today. Help me to walk wisely, redeeming the time, and to be filled with Your Spirit. Thank You for the gift of family and for the guidance to love and serve one another. Strengthen me to put on Your full armor, and to stand firm against all spiritual darkness.
