💭 What This Means
Paul wraps up his letter to the Colossians today, reminding them of the incredible mystery that has been revealed: Christ in you, the hope of glory. He emphasizes that in Christ, we are complete. We are rooted and built up in Him, forgiven of all our sins, and raised with Him through faith. This means we are free from empty philosophies, human traditions, and legalistic rules about food or holidays. Because we are united with Christ, our lives are hidden with Him in God. This new identity calls us to put off the old ways of anger, malice, and lying, and instead put on virtues like kindness, humility, and love. He gives practical instructions for living out this new life in our families and workplaces, urging us to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks. Finally, he encourages prayer, wise speech, and sends greetings from his fellow workers, including Luke. It's a powerful call to live out who we already are in Christ.
🙏 Let's Pray
Lord, thank You for the mystery revealed: Christ in me, the hope of glory. Thank You that in You I am complete, forgiven, and raised to new life. Help me to live out this truth today, putting on kindness and love, and doing everything in Your name with thanksgiving. Guide my words and actions. In Jesus' name, Amen.
