▶ Listen to Today's Reading
Today's reading, then a short explanation, then a closing prayer — all one recording.
💭 What This Means
Today's reading in Ephesians opens with Paul revealing a profound mystery: that God's plan always included the Gentiles, making them fellow heirs and partakers of His promise in Christ. He then prays that we, too, might grasp the immeasurable breadth and depth of Christ's love, being strengthened by the Spirit and filled with God's fullness. This incredible truth leads directly into how we are to live. Chapter four urges us to walk worthy of our calling, striving for unity in the body of Christ, recognizing there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism. We're given gifts to build up the church. Then comes a clear call to put off the old way of living, with its darkness and selfish desires, and to put on the new self, created in righteousness and holiness. This means speaking truth, forgiving others, and letting our words build up, not tear down. We are to walk in love, as Christ loved us, and live as children of light, exposing darkness around us.
🙏 Let's Pray
Lord, thank You for the incredible mystery that I am a fellow heir with Christ. Help me to truly comprehend the boundless love of Jesus. Strengthen me by Your Spirit to walk worthy of my calling, living in unity with others, and continually putting on the new self You've created in me. May my life be a light, reflecting Your goodness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
