💭 What This Means
Today's reading brings us to the end of Acts and the beginning of Paul's letter to the Ephesians. In Acts, we see Paul's journey to Rome, marked by a viper bite he shakes off, and miraculous healings on Malta. He finally arrives in Rome under house arrest, but still preaches the Kingdom of God to Jewish leaders. When some disbelieve, Paul declares that God's salvation is now sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it. This sets the stage for Ephesians, where Paul unpacks the incredible truth of God's eternal plan. He tells us we were chosen in Christ before creation, predestined for adoption, and have redemption through His blood. He reveals the mystery that God will gather all things in Christ. Gentiles, once far off and without hope, are now brought near by Christ's blood. He is our peace, breaking down dividing walls to create one new humanity, building us into a holy temple for God.

Lord, thank You for Your incredible plan revealed in Christ. Thank You that You chose me before the world began and brought me near through Jesus' blood. Help me to live as part of Your one new humanity, built on the cornerstone of Christ. May I always remember the hope of Your calling and the riches of Your inheritance in the saints. In Jesus' name, Amen.
