💭 What This Means
Today we dive into the first seven of the ten plagues God sends upon Egypt, revealing His mighty power and Pharaoh's stubborn resistance. We see the Nile turn to blood, frogs swarming everywhere, dust turning to lice, and grievous swarms of flies. Then a deadly pestilence strikes Egyptian livestock, and painful boils afflict people and animals. Finally, a devastating hail storm with fire rains down, destroying crops and everything in the fields. Through it all, Pharaoh repeatedly promises to let God's people go when the plague is lifted, only to harden his heart again and again. Even his own magicians eventually admit, 'This is the finger of God.' But God also shows His mercy and distinction, protecting the Israelites in Goshen from the flies, the livestock pestilence, and the hail. Each plague is a powerful demonstration that there is no one like the Lord in all the earth.

Lord, thank You for revealing Your mighty power in these plagues. It's clear there is no one like You. Forgive me for the times I harden my heart against Your will or Your truth. Help me to respond with obedience and trust, and thank You for Your faithfulness to Your people. Keep my heart soft and responsive to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
