💭 What This Means
Paul begins by urging the Corinthians to forgive a repentant brother, showing that God's grace extends to restoration. He then contrasts the old covenant of the letter with the new covenant of the Spirit, which brings life and liberty. Our sufficiency for this glorious ministry comes from God, not ourselves. We carry this divine light, this treasure, in fragile human bodies, so that God's power is clearly seen. Despite troubles and persecution, we do not lose heart, knowing that our temporary afflictions are working for an eternal glory. Because of Christ's love, we know that in Him, we are a new creation. Old things are gone, all things are new. God has reconciled us to Himself through Christ and entrusted us with this amazing ministry of reconciliation. We are ambassadors, pleading with others to be reconciled to God, because He made Christ to be sin for us, so we might become His righteousness. This is the heart of our message and our enduring purpose.

Lord, thank You for the incredible gift of reconciliation through Christ. Thank You that in Him, I am a new creation. Help me to grasp the truth that my sufficiency comes from You alone. Empower me by Your Spirit to be an ambassador of this message, sharing Your love and truth with those around me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
