💭 What This Means

Today we walk through the most pivotal event in human history. After Jesus' crucifixion, Joseph of Arimathea, joined by Nicodemus, bravely takes Jesus' body and lays it in a new tomb, sealing it with a great stone. The religious leaders, remembering Jesus' prophecy of rising in three days, secure the tomb with guards. But early on the first day of the week, as the women come with spices, they find the stone rolled away and the tomb empty. Angels announce, "He is risen; he is not here." Mary Magdalene, initially distraught, is the first to encounter the risen Christ, mistaking Him for the gardener before He speaks her name. Peter and John also see the empty tomb and the folded grave clothes. Despite the guards' bribed story, the truth is clear: Jesus has conquered death. This is the promise fulfilled.

Lord, thank You for this day, for the empty tomb, and for Your resurrection. Thank You for conquering death and offering new life. Help me to live each day in the power of Your resurrection, trusting in Your victory over sin and the grave. May I always remember that You are risen. In Jesus' name, Amen.
