▶ Listen to Today's Reading
Today's reading, then a short explanation, then a closing prayer — all one recording.
💭 What This Means
Today's reading is packed with Jesus' parables and interactions with religious leaders, all highlighting His authority and their rejection. We begin with the parable of the two sons, showing that true obedience is in action, not just words, and that outsiders are entering God's kingdom. Then, the powerful parables of the wicked tenants and the wedding feast reveal God's repeated sending of messengers, culminating in His beloved Son. The tenants kill the son, and the invited guests spurn the king's feast. Both parables speak to the consequences of rejecting God's invitation and His Son, the "stone the builders rejected." Jesus then skillfully counters traps set by the Pharisees and Sadducees. He teaches us to "render to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's," and eloquently explains the truth of the resurrection, reminding us that God is the God of the living. These encounters show Jesus' divine wisdom and the escalating tension with those who oppose Him.
🙏 Let's Pray
Lord, thank You for Your clear teaching today. Help me to be a doer of Your word, not just a hearer. Give me wisdom to discern truth and courage to follow You, even when it's difficult. Thank You for being the God of the living, and for the hope of resurrection. May I always give You what is Yours. In Jesus' name, Amen.
