Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, As we navigate the complexities of the world, it is essential to remember that our God is the Lord of all creation. Recent fluctuations in oil prices have sparked concern among traders and nations, with hopes that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen. While the economic implications are significant, let us not forget that our ultimate hope is rooted in the promises of Scripture. The Strait of Hormuz, a vital artery for global energy supply, has been a point of tension. Yet, we are reminded in Psalm 104:27 that “the Lord is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, and He has girded Himself with light as with a garment.” God’s sovereignty extends over every aspect of our world, including the nations and their decisions. As believers, we trust that He is working all things according to His perfect will, even in times of uncertainty. Proverbs 21:1 tells us, “The king’s heart is like the waters of the channels, it is a torrential stream.” The hearts of leaders and nations are indeed fickle, but our God is unchanging. In Christ, we find the peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). While the world may tremble, our faith remains unshaken. We pray for wisdom and discernment in the hearts of leaders, that they may seek the Lord’s guidance in their decisions. May they remember that their authority is not of this world, but from the One who reigns above. As we trust in God’s plan, let us also pray for the safety of those in the region and the stability of global markets. In the midst of uncertainty, let us fix our eyes on the promise of Christ’s return. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble (Psalm 46:1). We entrust our fears and anxieties to Him, knowing that He is in control. Heavenly Father, we lift our concerns to You. Guide the leaders of this world according to Your will. Bring peace to the nations and grant wisdom to those in power. Strengthen our faith as we wait for Your kingdom to come. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
