A Devastating Moment, A Divine Promise
The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). In the wake of a tragic shooting at Wilmington Hospital in Delaware, where one life was lost, we are reminded of the profound truth that even in the darkest moments, God is present. The news of the suspect’s arrest in Philadelphia brings a measure of justice, yet it also calls us to reflect on the brokenness of our world and the hope found in Christ.
A Call to Prayer and Compassion
As we grieve with those affected by this senseless act, we are also called to act with compassion. The Bible reminds us that we are to be “peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9), and in times of turmoil, our response should be rooted in love and faith. The Lord’s Prayer teaches us to seek His will, and in this moment, we entrust our hearts to Him.
Trusting in God’s Sovereignty
The psalmist wrote, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1).
