💭 What This Means
Today we get a glimpse into Paul's final days, sending greetings and urging Timothy to visit before winter. But then we launch into the majestic book of Hebrews, which opens by declaring that God, who spoke in many ways in the past, has now spoken definitively through His Son, Jesus. This Son is the very radiance of God's glory, upholding all things, and He purged our sins before sitting at God's right hand. Hebrews emphasizes Jesus's absolute supremacy over angels and even Moses. He became human, a little lower than angels, to suffer death, destroy the devil, and be our merciful High Priest. The passage then gives a strong warning from Israel's history: do not harden your hearts. We must strive to enter God's promised rest by faith, because the living, powerful word of God discerns our deepest thoughts.
🙏 Let's Pray
Lord, thank You for speaking to us so clearly through Your Son, Jesus. Help me to truly hear Your voice today and not harden my heart. Give me the faith to enter Your rest, trusting in Jesus my High Priest. In Jesus' name, Amen.
