💭 What This Means

Today's Psalms are songs of ascent, sung by pilgrims traveling to Jerusalem. They capture a range of emotions, from deep distress to soaring hope. Psalm 120 opens with a cry for deliverance from deceitful tongues and a longing for peace amidst conflict. But then Psalm 121 shifts our gaze upward, reminding us that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He is our tireless keeper, who never slumbers or sleeps, protecting us from all evil, preserving our every step. Psalm 125 grounds us in the truth that those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, unshakeable, surrounded by God's constant presence. Lord, thank You for being our Keeper, who never slumbers or sleeps. When I feel surrounded by deceit or scorn, help me lift my eyes to You, knowing my help comes from You. Strengthen my trust so I can be unshakeable like Mount Zion. Fill my heart with joy, even when I sow in tears, knowing You will bring a harvest of rejoicing. In Jesus' name, Amen.
