A Time for Prayer and Reflection
The Lord God Almighty has once again reminded us of His sovereignty in the face of evil. Yesterday, a tragic shooting at Wilmington Hospital in Delaware claimed the life of one innocent soul. Our hearts ache for the family and friends of the victim, and we are reminded of the fragility of life. Yet, in the midst of sorrow, we find hope in the promise of God’s Word: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” (John 14:27). May this promise bring comfort to all who grieve.
The Power of Scripture in Times of Trial
In moments of darkness, the Bible reminds us that God is our refuge and strength. The psalmist wrote, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1). As we pray for the victims, the families, and the medical staff, let us trust that God is in control. He is the author of peace, and He will bring justice in His time.
A Call to Unity and Hope
Our brothers and sisters in Christ are called to live as beacons of light in a world shrouded in fear. The apostle Paul urged us to “not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21). Let us respond to this tragedy with love, compassion, and a renewed commitment to our faith. The Lord has not abandoned us, and He will guide us through this trial.
A Simple Prayer for Healing and Justice
Heavenly Father, we lift up the wounded, the grieving, and the fearful. We pray for Your healing touch in the hearts of those who have been broken. Guide the authorities in their pursuit of justice, and grant them wisdom and strength. Lord, we trust You are in control, and we commit our lives to You. May Your peace fill every corner of this world. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
