💭 What This Means
Today we journey with Paul as his spirit is stirred in Athens by the city's idolatry. He courageously engages with philosophers on Mars' Hill, using their own 'unknown God' altar as a bridge. Paul declares the true God as creator, the giver of life, who made all humanity from one blood. He calls for repentance and proclaims resurrection through Jesus, though some mock and others are curious. Moving to Corinth, Paul finds fellowship and livelihood as a tentmaker with Aquila and Priscilla. Then we dive into his first letter to the Thessalonians. He gives heartfelt thanks for their vibrant faith, their loving service, and their enduring hope in Jesus, even amidst affliction. They turned from idols to serve the living God and became powerful examples. Paul reminds them of his sincere, fatherly care, how he shared not just the gospel but his very life with them. He comforts them about those who have died, assuring them that believers will rise and meet the Lord when He returns. He urges them to live holy lives, abound in love, and remain sober and watchful, ready for Christ's coming.

Lord, thank You for Paul's example of courageously sharing the Gospel, even in challenging places. Help me to be stirred by the needs around me and to speak Your truth with wisdom and love. Establish my heart in faith, love, and hope, just as You did for the Thessalonians. May I live ready for Your return. In Jesus' name, Amen.
