💭 What This Means
Today, a new voice enters the conversation: Elihu. He's younger than Job and his friends, and he's been patiently listening, but now he can't hold back. He's angry with Job for justifying himself more than God, and with the friends for failing to answer Job while still condemning him. Elihu reminds them that wisdom isn't just about age, but about the Spirit of God giving understanding. He tells Job that God is far greater than any human and doesn't need to explain Himself. Elihu suggests that God speaks to us in various ways, like dreams or even through pain, to turn us from pride and save us from destruction. He even speaks of a "ransom" that can deliver someone from the pit. Elihu emphasizes God's perfect justice, affirming that God never does wrong and always sees what men do. He believes Job has spoken without knowledge, adding rebellion to his sin by questioning God's ways.
