Then, in chapter twenty-eight, David gathers all the leaders to pass the torch to Solomon. He reveals that God chose Solomon to build the temple, not him, because David was a man of war. David then gives Solomon the exact plans for the temple, noting that 'the Lord made me understand in writing by his hand upon me.' This was a divinely inspired blueprint.
