💭 What This Means

Today's reading shows us David establishing his kingdom, not just through military might, but also through justice and administration. We see lists of his key officials and genealogies of the Levites, reminding us of the importance of worship and service in God's plan. But a powerful story of grace stands out: David's kindness to Mephibosheth, Jonathan's son. Despite Mephibosheth's disability and his family's past, David seeks him out and restores all of Saul's land to him, inviting him to eat at the king's table continually.
